Abstract: Falls among the elderly are a significant concern because they lead to a decline in the quality of life, resulting in injuries, disabilities, and inability to perform daily activities, leading to dependency on others. This quasi-experimental research aimed to study the effectiveness falling prevention program for elderly in Pa Daet Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. This study included 56 elderly people with moderate to high risk of falling aged 60 -75 years. A sample random sampling without replacement, with 28 individuals assigned to the experimental group and 28 to the control group. The research tools included a fall prevention program, questionnaire consisting to demographic information, elderly fall prevention knowledge and an interview form assessing fall prevention behaviors in the elderly. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, dependent and independent samples t-test. The result found that the mean knowledge scores regarding fall prevention among the elderly in the experimental group differed significantly before and after the intervention (p-value < 0.05). However, in the control group, there was no significant difference in the mean knowledge scores before and after the intervention. When comparing the mean fall prevention knowledge scores between the experimental and control groups, it was found that the scores were not significantly different before the intervention but differed significantly after the intervention (p-value < 0.05). Additionally, the fall prevention behaviors of the elderly in the experimental group differed significantly before and after the intervention (p-value < 0.05). In the control group, the fall prevention Behaviours also differed significantly before and after the intervention (p-value < 0.05). When comparing the mean scores for fall prevention behaviors between the experimental and control groups, it was found that the scores were not significantly different before the intervention but differed significantly after the intervention (p-value < 0.05). Therefore, the fall prevention program for the elderly helps promote continuous knowledge and appropriate behaviors related to fall prevention among the elderly. It aids in reducing the impacts of falls and can serve as a guideline for primary care units and health workers dealing with elderly care. This program supports the elderly in maintaining their health, preventing falls, and managing their own well-being effectively.
